What TrueOrGame is

TrueOrGame covers video games with one question at its centre: is this actually confirmed, or is it still a rumour? The gaming news cycle moves faster than it can verify itself. A single forum screenshot becomes a headline, a headline becomes a fact, and by the time a publisher says anything official, half the audience already believes something that was never true.

We have been publishing since September 2024. Every piece is written to make the line between the two explicit, so you can tell what is known from what is merely being repeated.

How we treat leaks and rumours

Leaks are part of games coverage and we do not pretend otherwise. What we will not do is present one as settled fact.

• Confirmed means it came from the publisher, the developer, or an official broadcast, and we say which.
• Reported means a named outlet or journalist with a track record has published it, and we name them.
• Rumoured means it is circulating without either, and it is labelled as speculation for as long as that stays true.
• Debunked gets its own space. Correcting a claim we once reported matters more than quietly deleting it, so our guides carry the rumours that turned out to be false as well as the ones that held up.

When something moves from rumoured to confirmed, we update the article rather than publishing a second one that contradicts the first.

Our deep-dive guides

Some subjects do not suit a news post. For those we keep long guides that are revised as information arrives, rather than being republished each time something changes. They are built to be read months later and still be accurate — which means each one states plainly when it was last updated and what changed.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes, and rumour-heavy coverage makes that more likely, not less. If you have found an error, or you have official sourcing that contradicts something we have published, tell us and we will correct the article and say that we did. Reach us through our contact page.

Independence and how the site is funded

TrueOrGame is independent and is not owned by a publisher, developer or platform holder. The site carries advertising, which pays for it. Advertisers have no say in what we cover or in the conclusions we reach, and we do not accept payment for coverage or for a particular verdict on a game.
